Anne Kent Obituary, Death – November 22, 2022, to September 25, 1958, At Newport Beach, Anne Kent, 64, passed away beside her family. ALS caused Anne’s death. Robert, Anne’s 38-year-old husband, her children Tyler (Andrea), Ryan (Kristin), and Victoria (Joshua), as well as her grandchildren Hudson, Calvin, Lucas, and Iris Anne, will all survive her. She was preceded by Patricia and James Murphy. On September 25, 1958, in San Jose, California, Anne was born. She went to Presentation High School, but she also studied science at the nearby all-boys school in order to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a doctor.
At UCLA, Anne and Rob first became acquainted. In 1980, she received a degree in medical science with honors from UC Davis and was admitted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. During her OB/GYN residency at UC Irvine, Anne served as a head resident. At the renowned women’s clinic in Orange County, Doctor’s Office for Women, Anne entered private practice. At Hoag Hospital, Anne delivered approximately 10,000 infants. President of Pacific Women’s Healthcare Associates. The Jeffrey M. Carlton Endowed Chair in Women’s Health at Hoag Hospital is given as a token of appreciation to Dr. Anne Kent.
She received the Courage Award from Augie’s Quest. At Hoag, Anne loved her clients and her staff. Anne skied with Rob at Lake Tahoe when she was a medical student. She picked up downhill skiing during weekend trips to the mountains with the family. After scaling Rainier and Whitney, Anne developed into a skilled hiker. She liked organizing birthday and seasonal gatherings. With her seven siblings and families, Anne loved spending Thanksgiving. At Webb Lake in Maine, she spent 30 summers with her family and friends. Paddleboarding and waterskiing were taken up as hobbies. She cherished riding bikes with friends and family, attending her children’s sporting events, and visiting the Newport Beach shoreline. She enjoyed reading and country music. Anne will be remembered for her devotion to her family, friends, and the Catholic Church of Our Lady Queen of Angels. The smiles of Anne’s grandchildren made her final year more enjoyable.
