Bernice Alacci Obituary, Death – Bernice Alacci, who was a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family, passed away at her home on December 3, 2022. She was loved and cherished by all three generations of her family. When she passed away, her children were there for each other to console and support them during this difficult time. She spent her childhood in New York City, and it was in that city that she made her first connection with Lou Alacci, who would go on to become her husband.
She stayed in New York City until she was an adult. They arrived at the conclusion that River Vale, New Jersey would be the best place to raise their children, and they immediately started the process of constructing a home together in that location. Bernice made the most of every opportunity she had to be in or near water, whether it was in the bathtub or the middle of the ocean. She loved being near or in the water.
Swimming, playing on the beach “and stuff,” and going for strolls along the boardwalk are some examples of activities that contributed to the formation of many cherished memories. Other activities that did the same include going for walks along the boardwalk. All of the individuals who were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to engage in conversation with her will fondly remember her wry sense of humor (which she occasionally laced with a touch of sarcasm), her extraordinary generosity, her beaming smile, and her carefree demeanor.
The members of her immediate family include her sister Margaret McInerney, her children Lou Alacci and his partner Gail Farley, Bob Alacci and his wife Honroa, Patti Frese, and Kathie Giovannetti and her husband Bob, as well as her grandchildren Nicole Wallace and her husband Jack, Louis Alacci and his wife Rebecca, Brittany Alacci, Jillian McGonigle and her husband Adam, Billy Frese and his wife Danyel, and Bernice Hennessy was able to outlive both her devoted husband, Lou Alacci, as well as her brother, Michael Hennessy, who both passed away prior to her passing.
A celebration of her life will take place on the morning of Friday, December 9, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Becker Funeral Home in Westwood, New Jersey, which can be found at 219 Kinderkamack Road. The event will be held in her honor. Following the conclusion of the memorial service, her body will be interred at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in the town of Valhalla, New York. Following the conclusion of the celebration, this will take place. The family has requested that in lieu of sending flowers, memorial contributions be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital located in Memphis, Tennessee.
