Cierra Burrage Obituary, Death – At approximately 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, a vehicle ran over and killed a pedestrian named Cierra Burrage, who was 35 years old. The incident occurred at the intersection of Oakwood Drive and Slaydon Drive. The driver of the vehicle that was involved in the collision sped away from the scene of the accident as soon as he or she realized what had happened. According to the preliminary findings of the investigation, just prior to the collision, a red or burgundy SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Tahoe from the year 2006, was traveling south on Oakwood Avenue at a high rate of speed.
The collision occurred at that location. It is thought that the SUV was traveling in the direction that it collided with the other vehicle before the collision occurred. An additional driver claimed that they were in front of the SUV when they slowed down to make a right turn onto Slaydon Drive; at that point, the SUV moved into the northbound lane and caused an accident. The driver of the SUV also claimed that they were in front of the SUV. It was reported that the driver of the SUV admitted responsibility for the collision, saying that they had been driving recklessly.
According to the witness accounts, Burrage was crossing Oakwood Avenue when she was hit by the SUV.
It is believed that she was crossing the street at the time of the collision, and she was in the crosswalk at the time. Anyone who believes they may have information about this fatal accident or the Tahoe that is believed to have been involved is urged to call Crime Stoppers at the number 615-742-7463. The front end of the Tahoe will be damaged, and it will be missing its grill; the vehicle is believed to have been involved in the accident.
