Clarence Hill Obituary, Death – Clarence “Gene” Hill, who was 76 years old and originally from Fairfield, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 7:40 a.m. at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. He was taken there from Fairfield. Downtown the past, he had been the owner of Hill Sporting Goods, which had a storefront in Fairfield. Gene Hill was born on November 8th, 1946 in the city of Mt. Vernon, Illinois. He was welcomed into the world by his parents, Randall and Valetta (Chalcraft). On June 15, 1968, he wed Janet (Mauck), the one person he had ever truly loved in his entire life, and she became his wife.
Surviving members of his family include his wife, Janet, who currently resides in Fairfield; a son, Jerry Hill, who is married to Rachel and currently resides in Mt. Vernon, Illinois; a daughter, Julie Musgrave, who is married to Jason and also currently resides in Fairfield; five grandchildren, Dillon (JuLee) Curtner, Ali Curtner, Brendan Hill, Derek Hill, and Ryan Hill; and two great-grandchildren, Lyla and Olivia Curt Before he passed away, his parents and his brother Steve Hill, who was also a sibling, had already passed away.
On Friday, December 9, from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m., those who were close to Gene Hill and those who did not know him are invited to pay their respects at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. After that, there will be a service held at the graveside in the Maple Hill Cemetery. It will take place right away. Donations made in honor of the dead can be mailed to the Wayne County Humane Society, and the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home will gladly accept and acknowledge receipt of such contributions. Donations to the Humane Society are welcome in place of traditional floral expressions of sympathy.
