Dale Smith Obituary, Death – Dale Lee Smith, 60, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away on December 2, 2022. Dale was the second of Nancy A. Smith’s three sons. He was born on April 12, 1962. Dale earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Kalamazoo College after graduating from Adrian High School. He then attended Eastern Michigan University and earned a Master of Science in Finance. He began amassing a residential property portfolio at a young age and eventually founded his own development company. Following that, he attended Cooley School of Law and graduated with a Juris Doctor degree before opening his own legal practice in Lenawee County.

Dale Crocker Smith married Gayle Crocker in 1987, and their two children are Kelsey Lee Smith and McKenna Ann Smith. Dale’s mother, Nancy A. Smith, two brothers, Rick J. (Chantelle) Smith and Brad J. (Chan) Smith, as well as several nieces and nephews, including Robinson Smith, Ruby Smith, Ravell Smith, Maceo Smith, and Aja Smith, survive him. Rick J. Smith, his father, also passed away. Dale’s wit and sense of humor made him the life of the party, and he drew friends from all walks of life as a result. He enjoyed spending time on the water, going on adventures, and watching the Detroit Red Wings play in his spare time. He never missed a Big Ten Basketball Tournament and was a huge Michigan and Michigan State University fan. However, whenever there was a rivalry game, he considered himself a supporter of whichever school won.

He never failed to leave a triumphant legacy. Dale enjoyed going to the golf course with his friends, arguing with his brothers, and listening to various genres of music, especially reggae, but his favorite pastime was spending time with his two daughters. He wishes they could join him on the sandbar, attend a college football tailgate, or simply sit and play cards at the end of a long summer day. On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 3 p.m., funeral services will be held at the Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian. There will be a visitation from one to three p.m. prior to the service.
