A search warrant issued against Gomez was executed by agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at a residence in the 500 block of Racine Avenue in the Hilltop neighborhood.

The execution of the warrant took place at approximately 10:20 in the morning, and according to Lindgren, Andrade Gomez was injured as a result of “shots being discharged” during the process. The cause of his death was not immediately clear. The incident did not result in any FBI officers being injured in any way, shape, or form in any capacity.

A local resident stated that they had seen a man with a long gun who appeared to be pointing it at law enforcement officers. However, it was not clear whether or not this was connected to the incident that had already taken place. It was reported that the man had pointed the gun at the law enforcement officers. Booms were reportedly heard by multiple people of the neighborhood at roughly 10:30 in the morning.
