Deanne Dunne Obituary, Death – Deanne J. Dunne, 56, of Ridgewood, New Jersey, died unexpectedly on November 29th. Deanne was born on January 14, 1966, in New York City, to the late Adelaide M. Jason and Ronald E. Jason. Deanne grew up in Rockland County, New York, and earned a BS in Mathematics from Fairfield University. She left an indelible mark on the larger university community as President of Circle K International and a beloved member of the math department community. She was regarded as a strong student who managed to balance hard work and play.

She went on to have a successful career with Sanford C. Bernstein in New York and Westchester. Her energy was contagious, and she was a vibrant personality who brought her zest for life to everything she did. She married the love of her life, Frank P. Dunne, in 2001. The couple has two children: Frank “Patrick” (20), a Villanova University student, and Olivia (17), a Ridgewood (NJ) High School student. Deanne has a loving sister, Patrice Kaldany, and a brother, Ronald Jason, Jr., as well as several nephews (Raymond, Ronny, Timmy), nieces (Caitlin, Julia, Amanda), and loving cousins, uncles, and aunts.

Deanne’s great passion was music, both as a musician and as an enthusiast. She was an accomplished guitarist and pianist who also played the organ at her parish, St. Boniface of Monsey.Deanne’s favorite contemporary folk pop singers included Shawn Colvin, Brandi Carlile, and the Indigo Girls. Deanne loved tennis and attended the US Open with her husband, Frank, as well as working part-time at the Upper Ridgewood Tennis Club. She also played in USTA leagues, reaching the top of the New Jersey district championships in 2015. She was also an accomplished cook and baker, having learned these skills from her mother. Her Irish soda bread will live on. Deanne enjoyed going on vacation, particularly to the beach, and had a particular fondness for Montauk, New York, where her family had a second home. Her “happy place” had finally arrived.

Deanne was a fiercely loyal friend, maintaining friendships from childhood, college, and the Ridgewood community, to which she was deeply committed. She was a well-liked and respected community member who participated in numerous volunteer activities. For over ten years, she was a Girl Scout leader and Unit Manager, and for seven years, she was the Travell School HSA Treasurer and Vice-President, as well as a class parent/coordinator and Directory Chair. She was the Ben Franklin Middle School HSA President/Vice President and Directory Chair for several years. Deanne was a Federated HSA member and Jamboree cast member from 2018 to 2020, raising scholarship funds for Ridgewood High School.

Deanne attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel (OLMC) in Ridgewood for five years, where she was an active volunteer Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) teacher and OLMC MOM’s member. She was a cherished mother, sister, wife, aunt, friend, and loved by many, particularly in the Ridgewood neighborhood, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
