Demetrius Walker Obituary, Death – The Michigan Wolverines have been in a state of mourning this week following the passing of well-liked Michigan prospect Demetrius “Meechie” Walker the previous week. Meechie had every intention of playing college football for the Wolverines after he excelled as a high school football player at Muskegon High School in Michigan. Meechie was a star on the Muskegon High School football team. Due to their unfortunate diagnosis of Walker with an extremely rare form of bone cancer, he was compelled to give up playing football prior to completing his senior year of high school. This prevented him from graduating from his class.

Meechie was an inspiration to every member of our program and the Michigan family as a whole. He will be missed by so many people. The University of Michigan issued a statement saying, “We are heartbroken to learn of Demetrius Walker’s passing.” The social networking platform Twitter has been inundated with messages of condolence for the well-liked football player who passed away recently. These messages have been posted by both Michigan football players and fans.
Another user said, “I’m gut-wrenched and heartbroken for Meechie’s mother, son, and family. Those are the ones in pain now.” One user commented, “Get some decals for the playoffs and Go Blue Forever.” Another user said, “Demetrius has a new body and is in the presence of the Lord and only knows happiness.” Purchase some Go Blue Forever decals so you can show your support during the playoffs.

Demetrius had passed away, and another user wrote, “I hope the team wears a decal on their helmet in his honor during the playoffs. RIP Demetrius.” Demetrius had been a player for the team. A third user made the observation that he was “an inspiration to all, far beyond a jersey or a helmet.” They wrote that he was “way more than JUST the UM program.” During this difficult time, we are keeping Walker’s family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers.
