Emily Hoyle Obituary, Death – Emily Hoyle On Friday passed away in a peaceful manner at the Niagara on the Lake Hospital, surrounded by her devoted family. Beloved wife of John, who predeceased her, devoted mother of Bruce, Joanne (John) Mirynech, and Janis (Michael) Mirynech, and mother-in-law of Sandy. Nana Lisa, Nana Kristen, Nana Kathryn, Nana Breanna, Nana James, Nana David, and Nana Heather. Emily, one of seven children, was the youngest of the bunch and was raised on a farm in Hafford, Saskatchewan.
She attended nursing school on her own dime and then moved to Toronto in 1949, where she eventually met the man who would become her husband, John. They had three children there before making the move to St. Catharines in 1972 and making it their permanent residence. Emily will be remembered for the devotion and love that she had for her family, as well as for the generosity that she showed toward her friends, the community, and the church.
On Friday, at eleven in the morning, there will be a memorial service held in the Star of the Sea Church. On Thursday, the family will host a visitation at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, located at 585 Carlton Street, from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Prayers will be offered throughout the night at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at three o’clock. Donations in memory of the deceased that are made to Dr. Sandra Hartman Palliative Care or The Arthritis Society will be gratefully accepted by the family.
The family would like to offer their most sincere gratitude to Dr. Peter Fernandez, the exceptional nursing staff at NOTL Hospital, Dr. Sandra Hartman, and Dr. Kiley O’Neill for the devoted and compassionate care that they provided. In addition, we would like to express our gratitude to all of our family, friends, and co-workers for the incredible support they have given us over the course of the past year. It is appreciated more than you probably realize at this point.
