Eva Shrum Obituary, Death – Eva “Jo” Shrum, who was 91 years old at the time of her death on November 29, 2022, passed away in the city of Carthage, Missouri. Jo was brought into this world by her parents, Tom M. Harrison and Lela Eubanks, on March 4, 1931. Elkins, Arkansas served as the location of her birth. She initially settled there in Northwest Arkansas, but later relocated to Carthage, where she spent a significant portion of her life. Jo was a devoted follower of Christianity and a regular attendee at the Church of Christ on Elm Road. She was very pleased with the way her handwriting looked, so she sent her family, friends, and acquaintances a lot of letters that she had written by hand.
Gardening, scrapbooking, and cooking delectable meals for her family were some of Jo’s favorite things to do in her spare time. Her home was always spotless, and she had a reputation for tending to her garden with painstaking care. Jo and Jack H. Shrum were married in Arkansas on August 31, 1953, and the ceremony took place in Huntsville. He passed away on June 4, 2011, four years before she did. Jo’s family includes her two sons, Morris Shrum and his wife, Libby, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Mark Shrum and his wife, Terrie, of Carthage, Missouri; her two daughters, Lori Ball and her husband, Danny, of Jasper, Missouri, and Jacklyn Highfield of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee; her two sisters, Lois Austin of Lake Forest, California, and Betty Allison of Carthage, Missouri; and her eight grandchildren, Kelby, Rand
Her grandparents Tom and Lela Harrison, her husband Jack Shrum, her brothers William and James Earl Harrison, her sister Marie Henderson, and her grandson Mark Shrum Jr., who died in June 2021, all predeceased her. Jo’s parents, Tom and Lela Harrison, her husband Jack Shrum, her brothers William and James Earl Harrison, and her sister Marie Henderson all died before she did.
