Flo Scenna Obituary, Death – On Wednesday, Flo Scenna passed away after a long battle with cancer. During this trying time, our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family. We are going to miss having her here with us. Florence J. Scenna, a resident of Port Chester, New York, passed away on November 30th, 2022, while she was surrounded by her loved ones. The day of her passing was November 30th. She was born in Port Chester on September 12th, 1935 and her parents were Mary Morano and Joseph Donato. She was the eldest daughter of the two. Joseph Donato and Mary Morano were her parents and they were their names.
She was a much-loved mother and grandmother who devoted her life to caring for her family, including her children and grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as “Nanny.” She was the epitome of a matriarchal figure for her family, and she has bestowed upon them a legacy of love in the wake of her passing. Florence was a fanatical supporter of the New York Yankees, and she watched every inning of every game she could. She would frequently stay up late into the night to watch the game’s encore on the same night, just to make absolutely certain that she wouldn’t miss anything significant. On Sundays, she would make these renowned meatballs and pots of sauce, which a large number of people will always remember fondly.
She had a number of jobs over the course of her life, ranging from working at the Empire Brushworks to working at the Rye Shoe Store, and she was like a member of the family to anyone who became acquainted with her in any aspect of life. She worked a lifetime. Florence is survived by her husband Anthony, her children Marianne, Mark (Teresa), Charlene, and Christine (Kevin), her daughter-in-law Enza, and her grandchildren Steven, Olivia, Nicholas, Mark, Kevin, Anthony, Kevin (Miranda), and her great-granddaughter Emersyn. Florence is also survived by her daughter-in-law Enza. Enza, who was married to her son, is one of the people who will carry on her legacy. Prior to her own dying, her son Steven Scenna had already left this world.
A Christian funeral Mass will be held in honor of the deceased on Monday, December 5th, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection in Rye, New York. This will be in remembrance of the person who has passed away. The burial will take place at the Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye, New York, after the funeral services have concluded.
In remembrance of Florence Scenna, in lieu of sending flowers or other traditional expressions of condolence, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
