Gary Daniels Obituary, Death – Gary Daniels, who had formerly lived in Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Monday at the Accura Healthcare facility in Spirit Lake. Gary Daniels was a former resident of Carroll. Gary was born to Wayne L. and Hazel E. (Hay) Daniels, who were the parents of Gary L. Daniels. He was born on May 16 in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and he spent his childhood and adolescence in that city. Gary lived in New Hope Village in Carroll for a significant portion of his life, beginning in 1977 and continuing until 2014, when he relocated to Spirit Lake in order to be nearer to his family.
The desire to be closer to one’s family was a driving force behind Gary’s relocation. Gary reached the point in his life where he was able to retire in the year 2010, after having taken part in the work program at New Hope Village and having worked at a number of different places in Carroll. Gary possessed a robust sense of patriotism, and it never failed to move him to tears whenever he came across an American flag. Gary’s love for horses ran deep, and he always pictured himself in the role of a cowboy no matter what his future held. He had a genuine interest in others, never spoke to a complete stranger, and was held in the highest regard possible by not only his family but also by everyone else who knew him.
Gary was a regular attendee of the United Methodist Church in Carroll, where he became a devoted follower of the church’s doctrine and practices. Gary is survived by his brothers Dennis Daniels (and his wife Carol), Jack Daniels (and his wife Becky), and Chuck Daniels (and his wife Karey), all of whom reside in Summerville, South Carolina, Estherville, Iowa, and Allen, Texas, respectively; in addition, Gary is survived by a large number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Before he was born, his grandparents Wayne and Hazel Daniels, as well as his nephew Trevor Daniels, all passed away.
