Gary Henline Obituary, Death – On Friday, December 2, 2022, at the age of 60 years old, Gary Lee Henline passed away at his home in the city of Webster Springs. During the final moments of his life, he was cared for by his loving family on both sides.
Both of his parents, Riley Cletis and Lena (Adamy) Henline, had passed away prior to his birth on February 7, 1962 in Webster Springs. He was the son of Riley Cletis and Lena (Adamy) Henline. Marsha Henline Slussar, his sister, had already passed away before he did, making her the third member of his family to join his parents and grandparents in the afterlife.
Gary had the reputation of being the most talented mechanic in the region, and he particularly enjoyed working on classic cars. Even as his health declined, he never turned down an opportunity to help those in need, he never said “no,” and he continued to work on autos even after he was diagnosed with cancer. In addition to that, he was quite successful at the Beckley Motor Speedway, where he competed in auto racing and enjoyed a great deal of success in the sport.
He treasured the time he was able to spend with his wife, daughter, and his two dogs, Scrappy and Spanky, in addition to the time he was able to spend with his infant daughter, Dinky. Those who are left behind to honor his memory include his devoted wife and soulmate, Patricia (Silman) Henline; his daughter, Cari (husband, Logan) Durham of Cowen; his son, Kirtis Henline of Webster Springs; his step-son, Robert (wife, Arlena) Veith of Webster Springs; his grandchildren, Robert Duaine Veith III, Nathaniel Veith, Chad Given, Avery Durham, and James Cameron Durham.
Memorial services honoring Gary’s life will be held at the Dodd & Reed Funeral Home in Webster Springs on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., and Pastor Doy Carpenter will preside over the ceremony as the officiant. Following the conclusion of the service, the interment will take place at the Point Mountain Cemetery. On Monday, visitors of the family are invited to pay their condolences at the funeral home between the hours of 12 and 2.
