George Preston Obituary, Death – Survived by his wife Katherine Preston (née Buchanan), whom he had been married to for 55 years (plus 2 days), as well as his three children: Patrick Preston (and his wife Jenni) of Nanaimo, British Columbia, and Daniel Preston (and his wife Tammy) of Brockville, Ontario. Also survived by his parents. Jennifer Preston-McLinton, better known by her nickname “Jay,” is a native of Belleville, which is located in Ontario. He was the grandfather of eight grandchildren, whose names are Brittany, Lauren, Nicole, Jordyn, Brody, and Cadence. Jayden was the eighth grandchild.
He was addressed as Papa by everyone. His eight great grandchildren—Preston, Hope, Hunter, Violet, Phoebe, and Sawyer—referred to him as Big Papa. Piper was the youngest of the eight. His great grandchildren were all older than Marleigh, yet she was the youngest of them. Butch has a sizable number of nieces and nephews that consider him their uncle. His maternal grandparents, Priscilla and Harold Preston, as well as his paternal parents and all of his siblings, Bud Preston, Bill Preston, Jim Preston, and Tom Preston and Margaret Robson, all died before he did. His siblings were Bud Preston, Bill Preston, Jim Preston, and Tom Preston and Margaret Robson.
He was a man of integrity who was deeply devoted to his family and who served his country with distinction. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing him and being loved by him will grieve his passing in their own unique way. In the future, there will be a memorial service as well as a celebration of the deceased’s life. At this time, the arrangements are being handled by the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, which is located at 80 Highland Avenue in Belleville (613-968-5588). If the family so wants, memorial payments can be donated to the Belleville Branch 99 of the Royal Canadian Legion.
