Georgia Ballard Obituary, Death – At the time of her passing on December 1, 2022, Georgia Nelle Ballard, who had spent the majority of her life in the city of Nashville, Tennessee, had reached the age of 89. She had already retired from Brown Shoe Company and Swan Hose by the time she was 88 years old, when, according to her, she was forced to retire from her job at Wal-Mart. She said that she was forced to retire because of her age. She had a history of working for both of those companies in the past. She was very devoted to her family, which consisted of the people she worked with at Walmart, and one of her most beloved activities was to cut the grass in her yard.
She is survived by her two daughters, Dian Britt (Jackie) and Teresa Ballard, her son, Jeremy Ballard (Angie), her two sisters, Patricia Lenderman and Carolyn Burton, six grandchildren, Kristie Peterson, Brad Peterson, Kaley Hopper (Heather), Hunter Ballard (Tyler), and Ty Wolfe, and five great-grandchildren, Michael Peterson (Christina), Jessica Peterson, Presley Hopper, Brooklyn Hopper, and Ernest Wolf Her parents, Dewey and Moya Wilson Roberts, and her three sisters, Laverne Azbill, Lorene Rhodes, and Alma Sue Wood, all passed away before she did. Her three sisters were Laverne Azbill, Lorene Rhodes, and Alma Sue Wood. She is the sole member of her immediate family to have survived. Her parents were married.
Funeral services will be held at Reeds Chapel on Sunday, December 4, at 2:00 p.m., and immediately following the funeral services, the burial will take place at Sand Ridge Cemetery. The date and time of these events are as follows: Visitation will be held on Saturday from 5 to 9 PM, and then again on Sunday beginning at 11 AM and continuing up until the time of the service. On Monday, the visitation will begin at 11 AM and continue until the time of the service.
