Hazel English Obituary, Death – On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at the age of 87, Hazel Murphy English, who was the widow of the late Larry English, passed away in the comfort of her own home. Larry English had passed away the previous year. On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon, the Reverend Wayne Usry will preside over the funeral services that will be performed at the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors. The services will be held in memory of a loved one who passed away. Following the conclusion of the funeral service, the burial will take place at Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. English was born in the state of Georgia’s Augusta, which is also her maiden name. Her mother, Myrtle Shope Whitaker, and her father, Mitchell Murphy, had both passed away prior to the birth of their daughter. Mrs. English was employed by John Anderson throughout her 23-year career as an optometrist at Murphy and Robinson. During this period, Mrs. English was also employed elsewhere. In addition, she was a co-owner of Medical Professional Opticians from the year 1981 till the year 1995. Mrs. English is currently enjoying her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, as well as her siblings James Murphy, Billy Murphy, Frank Murphy, and Lois McKee. Her great-grandparents also passed away before her. Her loving husband and son, Stephen Melton, as well as her parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, all passed away before she did. Also, she was preceded in death by her great-grandparents. She is survived by her son Nathan Melton, her daughter Kayla Melton Weeks, her stepdaughter Julie English Rahn, her sister Martha Shurling, her grandchildren English Coit and Jade Coit, her great grandchildren Savannah Melton,
Hollis Melton, Charlotte Weeks, and Adeline Weeks, her nieces Elaine Gentry, Jane Radford, Lynn Shurling Lass, Julie Bagwell, Judy Costigan, Tammy Frank, and Melanie Murphy, and her nephew Stan; and her step At one o’clock in the afternoon, the family will begin greeting guests, and this will continue up until the time that the event officially begins.
