Howard Collins Obituary, Death – On Sunday, December 4, 2022, at his residence in Millsboro, Delaware, Howard Vernon Collins, passed away unexpectedly. He had 78 years under his belt. On May 7, 1944, Howard Collins was born in Millsboro, Delaware, to his late parents, Ollie and Mildred Collins. He was born and raised in Delaware, where he later worked as a machine operator for DuPont for a total of 27 years. In Laurel, Delaware, he was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church. It was a hobby of his to construct stock cars and drag cars. In addition to that, he raced at the Delmar track and was a member of the Southern Delaware Street Rod.

Even though he was employed by DuPont, he ran his own body painting company, which was located in Millsboro, Delaware and was called Vernon’s Paint and Body Shop. In addition to that, Howard enjoyed going on trips and watching westerns. McDonald’s was where he and his friends would regularly gather for breakfast. The deaths of Howard Collins’s parents, Ollie and Mildred Collins, as well as his brother, Alvin Collins, and sister, Dorothy Collins, came before his own. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sue Ellen; his daughter, Cathy Bradshaw (Stanley) of Crisfield, Maryland; his two stepsons, David Wheedleton of Seaford, Delaware and Michael Wheedleton of Bishopville, Maryland; his brother, Leon Collins (Janice) of Georgetown; as well as a large number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

On Friday, December 9, 2022, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, there will be a viewing held at the Watson Funeral Home, which is located at 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966. The funeral service will begin at eleven in the morning. Millsboro Cemetery is going to be used for the interment. Donations in his honor can be sent to Bless Our Children, care of WBOC TV, 1729 N. Salisbury Blvd., Salisbury, Maryland 21801, or to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, care of 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105. These can be sent in lieu of flowers.
