Ira Jaffee Obituary, Death – The sad news that Ira Jaffee will be leaving the company has brought on a mood of deep depression for all of us here. He was a devoted husband to Cherri, a doting father to Kira (Shlomo) and Ethan (Sarah), and a cherished grandfather to Elijah, Ella, and Margot. Cherri was blessed to have him as her spouse. Cherri was the loving wife he chose for himself. He was extremely devoted to his children, Ethan and Kira. Yesterday evening, in the presence of his family and in the comfortable settings of their home, he passed away in a state of tranquility.
During his tenure as Executive Director of our Jewish Community Center, which spanned more than three decades, Ira was a devoted friend to the community and an advocate for its well-being (JCC). The news of Ira’s demise has left our business in a state of profound shock, but we will always be grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside him and for the contributions he made to our organization. Nevertheless, there are no words that can completely reflect the breadth of our loss and our appreciation for the achievements he made. We will miss him terribly.
At this time, the Jaffee family would appreciate it if you could keep them in your thoughts and prayers. During this trying time, may the memory of Ira bring you some measure of comfort and calm to help you get through it. On the afternoon of Sunday, January 29, at one o’clock in the afternoon, a Celebration of Life will be held in memory of Ira. The Arthur M. Glick Jewish Community Center in Indianapolis can be found at 6701 Hoover Road; it will serve as the venue for the event. The ceremony will take place in the Laikin Auditorium, which has been reserved for the occasion.
