James Arden Obituary, Death – James Clyde Arden, who was a resident of Ironton, Ohio previously, passed away on December 1, 2022, in Greensboro, North Carolina. His parents, Clyde and Virginia White Arden, as well as his sister, Sylvia Lou Arden Reis, passed away before he did. Jim, a retired machinist, had a spirit of adventure and lived life to the fullest throughout his time on earth. He had a remarkable talent for music and could pick up almost any instrument just by listening to how it was played. In addition, he was a master of various styles of martial arts and a boxer who had won the Golden Gloves tournament.

He also enjoyed flying and jumping out of airplanes. Throughout his entire life, Jim had a deep affection for his family, especially his children and grandchildren, as well as for all kinds of animals. His children, Jami Brown (Andrew) of Reidsville, NC, Jessica Schulken (Chad) of Falls Church, VA, and Matthew Arden (Melinda) of Duluth, GA, as well as his grandchildren Hannah, Luke, and Jonah Brown; Hundley, Griffin, Abi, and Bella Schulken; and Sebastian, Brayden, Emma, and Addison Arden, all survive him. Jami Brown was married to Andrew and they lived in Reidsville. Jessica Schulken

A private burial service will be held in Jim’s honor at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, Kentucky. Jim will be laid to rest there. On Saturday, December 10, at 10:30 AM, the family will host a visitation for guests in the chapel of Sharon Baptist Church, which is located at 2010 South 5th Street in Ironton, Ohio. A celebration of life will get underway at eleven in the morning.
