James Wilkerson Obituary, Death – James Watson Wilkerson, a citizen of Chesterton, passed away at the age of 42. On Friday, October 14, 2022, James Watson “Spanky” Wilkerson, age 42 and a resident of Chesterton, Indiana, passed away. Spanky was born in Hobart, Indiana, on August 22, 1980. His parents, Roy Lucian and Janet Darlene (née Lewis) Wilkerson, have since passed away. In addition to his employment as a painter for the Union with Local 460, he was also employed as a mechanic. He was an excellent technician, and many people would miss his services.
When Spanky had some time to himself, one of his favorite things to do was go to Florida. It was possible to find him taking pictures of his children and appreciating the refreshing wind from the ocean, but you would never see him really getting into the water. Spanky was a selfless person who was always concerned about the welfare of others around him. He was the type of person who would help anyone in need and would even give you the clothes off his back.
He was always able to make other people laugh and had a great sense of humor. The two people that received the most of Spanky were his children and his parents. He is a loyal father, loving fiancé, cherished son and brother, as well as a dear uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to all of those individuals who had the good fortune to know him. Spanky is survived by his children, Watson, Jaxton, Jolie, and Jordan; his fiancee, Michelle Cleveland; his brothers, Roy
(Debbie) Wilkerson, Tim Wilkerson, and Tony Wilkerson; his aunts, Kay (Don) Wilson and Frances (Wayne) Gilbert; his uncle, Roger (Deborah) O’Rourke; his nieces, Shannon, Ariel, Kayla, and Laura; his nephews, James, Terry, Matthew, Jared Spanky’s sister, Tina Wilkerson, as well as his beloved paternal grandparents, Watson and Catherine Wilkerson, passed away before him. His parents, Roy and Janet, also passed away before him.
Donations in Spanky’s memory can be made to his family in place of flowers at this time.
