Jason Miller Obituary, Death – According to information provided to Eyewitness News by members of the local law enforcement, a two-car collision that took place in Lackawant County resulted in the deaths of two people. Eyewitness News was informed by the Lackawant to County Communications Center that emergency personnel was sent to the 1400 block of Heart Lake Road on Saturday evening around 8:00 p.m. in response to a two-car collision in which at least one of the vehicles involved rolled over. According to a law enforcement officer who was present at the scene of the accident and who confirmed this information to Eyewitness News, two people had tragically lost their lives as a direct result of the collision. This information was provided by the officer to Eyewitness News. We have been informed by the Lackawant to County Communications Center that one individual was taken to the hospital in an ambulance that was fitted with advanced life support. We have been provided with this information. It is not possible to determine the seriousness of the wounds that the individual has sustained at this time.

Anthony Maurizio, 39, of Pocono Lake, and Jason Miller, 49, of Carbondale have been identified as the two men who were killed in the accident, as determined by the findings of the Lackawannock County Coroner. Both men were driving at the time of the collision. It was discovered that both men had been residing in the state of Pennsylvania. During their trip, both men were found sitting in the same seat in the same vehicle.

The maintenance work that needed to be done on Heart Lake Road caused it to be closed to traffic in both directions between Chapman Lake Road and Route 247. However, the road is now open to traffic in both directions after having been closed for the duration of the work.
