Jon Bottum Obituary, Death -In the year 2022, Jon Michael Bottum, who was 75 years old and from Ithaca, Michigan, passed away. On September 15, 1947, Jon was brought into this world by his parents, EJ and Freda (Miller) Bottum in the town of St. Johns, Michigan. On September 20, 2008, Jon wed Dana Lambert-Bottum (Miller), and the couple has two children. They had a total of seven children, which resulted in twenty grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Jon cherished every moment spent witnessing the development of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In his spare time, Jon enjoys working on woodworking projects, attending sporting events where his grandchildren are competing, and holding the position of “Mayor” of the “Just in Time Campground.” He had been a faithful participant in both the church and the Maple Rapids Fire Department for many years. In the early stages of his racing career, Jon competed at Crystal Motor Speedway in the “22” Saturday Nite Ride. Later on, he came up with the idea of holding lawn mower races under the name “Maple Rapids Grass Kickers” in order to donate money to the American Diabetes Association. Jon worked on agricultural machinery for the better part of his life, beginning his career at Mint City Tractor in St. Johns, Michigan.

At the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church, located at 330 S. Maple Avenue, Maple Rapids, Michigan 48853, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The ceremony will take place at the Maple Rapids United Methodist Church on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., and Pastor Kathy Leydorf-Keck will preside over it.
