Kelton Mann Obituary, Death – Kelton Buck, 78, died surrounded by his family on January 5, 2022. Kelton was a native of the county. On March 27, 1943, he was born in Checotah to Duffy and Opal (Hallum) Buck. He grew up in Stidham and attended high school there. After graduating, Kelton returned to the family farm to assist his father. He visited Eufaula on April 15, 1966, and met, fell in love with, and married Brenda Kay Blair. He was spiritually inclined. He accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at the Eufaula Church of Christ in 1972. Kelton was employed by TH Rogers in Eufaula until 1976. He relocated his family to Checotah and joined the local church.

Kelton served as a deacon. He became the manager of TH Rogers and assisted customers with all of their construction needs. He was given a raise. Kelton retired in 2008, but he continued to assist his daughter Dana and the customers he adored until 2018. For his family, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, crafting, and woodworking. For many years, Kelton was a volunteer firefighter and the Checotah Fire Chief.

Kelton He was a Checotah Lions Club member who enjoyed riding motorcycles. Brenda and he are members of the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club, so they can travel. Everett Dunn accompanied them on their bicycle ride around the neighborhood. Kelton was a “wonderful” man who was easygoing, calm, and eager to help others. He was a devoted husband who adored his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He read the Bible every day. Kelton will be missed by everyone who knew him. Before him, Brooklyn Hatridge, Kenton, Keith, and Kermit Buck died. He was predeceased by Duffy and Opal Buck. Brenda, his 55-year-old wife, and his three children and their spouses, Georganna Townsend, Karen Elerick, and Dana Goad, survive him. Ashley Jameson and Nolan have 16 grandchildren, as do Shelby Hatridge and Caleb, Cheyenne, Courtney, Callie, and Bailey Townsend, Kasey, Kristopher, Kameron Elerick and Jessi, Dustin Goad and Sarah, and Taylor Gallagher and Ryan. He is survived by his brother Kyle Buck, extended family, and lifelong friends, in addition to his great-grandchildren. Kyle Buck is still alive.
