Lana Phillips Obituary, Death – Lana Marie (Musick) Phillips, who was 77 years old at the time of her death on December 5, 2022, in Chesterton, Indiana, passed away. She called Chesterton her home and was a local inhabitant. She was born on September 14th, 1945 in Gary, Indiana to parents named Alan Musick and Wilma (Landis) Musick. She was the only child in her family. The only members of Lana’s immediate family who were able to survive her passing were her daughter, Lynae (Nick) Mitchell, son, Jason (Kathy) Phillips, grandson, Donavon Phillips, brother, Mark (Chrissy) Musick, and sister, Michelle Musick. Her daughter married a man named Nick Mitchell.

Her parents, Wilma Musick and Alan Musick, both passed away before she did. Her mother’s maiden name was Musick. She was not one of those who survived past either of them. Lana enjoyed a variety of pastimes, but her favorites included collecting jewelry, reading biographies, and traveling on exciting excursions. She especially treasured the time she got to spend with her loved ones, especially her children. All of the people who had the privilege of knowing and loving her will grievously miss her unique laugh as well as the light that she brought into the world.

Memorial Services are scheduled to take place at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home in Chesterton, which can be found at 517 Broadway, on the afternoon of Monday, December 12, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. There will be a Memorial Visitation beginning at one in the afternoon and continuing up until the time of the ceremony that will be held at the funeral home.

Through the website stjude.org, individuals who do not wish to send flowers but would like to make a contribution to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital may do so. In addition, the family plans to participate in a hospice 5k walk during the spring of 2023 and will be searching for people to join “Lana’s Light” team. The event is scheduled to take place.
