Larry Maddix Obituary, Death – On June 15, 2022, Larry E. Maddox, who resided in Marion, Illinois, and had reached the age of 72, passed away in the house that he had called home for the entirety of his life. Larry Watts was brought into the world by his biological mother Norma (Owens) Watts and his stepfather Dean Watts on September 12th, 1949 in the town of Carbondale, Illinois. The boy’s stepfather inspired the naming of Larry. He wed Patricia L. Bigeck on May 13th, 1967. The ceremony took place in 1967. The city of Marion was Larry’s home throughout his childhood, and it was also the location of his secondary education. For a good number of years, he worked as a salesman for the Guy Chicon Candy Co. After moving to Burlington, Iowa with his wife, he located work as a baker for Little Debbie Snack Cakes. He has been there ever since.
2010 was the year that he finally decided to retire, and the following year, he and his wife made the move back to Marion. Larry enjoyed woodworking and making beef jerky. In addition to this, he valued the time he got to spend with his family, particularly with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Patricia L. Maddox of Marion, Illinois; his three children, Sherri N. (Mike) Samuel of Marion, IL, Donna M. (Bret) Robertson of Creal Springs, IL, and Felecia L. (Shannon) Pence of Lomax, Illinois; his stepfather Dean Watts of Lomax, Illinois; and four grandchildren, Dalton Robertson, Sidney Pence, Taylor Pence, and Sawyer Pence. He passed away in February Prior to his passing, he was predeceased by his mother, Norma Watts, as well as two of his sisters, Sandra Pritchett and Jennifer Maddox. Jennifer Maddox was one of his daughters.
The Blue Funeral Home is providing the family with assistance with the arrangements that need to be made. Larry’s last wishes will be carried out, and there are no current plans for a funeral or memorial service in his honor. He will be cremated.
