Lester Lynd Obituary, Death – Lester K. Lynd, 69, of Pataskala died unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 31, 1953, to the late Arnold I. and Dorothea H (Reelhorn) Lynd. After graduating from Northridge High School in 1971, he attended Michigan State University and earned an A.A.S. in Agriculture and Horticulture in 1973. He returned home to work on Lynd’s Fruit Farm with his family, where they grew apples, peaches, plums, and berries. The family also established The Market at Lynd’s Fruit Farm, for which he sourced the produce, under his leadership.

He was a former member of Hosanna Lutheran Church, where he was involved in the men’s golf league, as well as the Pataskala Lions Club, where he coached soccer for many years. For many years, he was also the scorekeeper for the Watkins Memorial girls’ basketball team. He also enjoyed talking and would go out of his way to converse with others. He had the rare ability to be genuinely happy to see others. Lester was inducted into the Ohio Agriculture Hall of Fame in 2011 after serving as president of the Ohio Fruit Growers Marketing Association.

His loving family includes his wife, the former Marcia Ridenour, his sons Brian (Amanda) Lynd and Scott Lynd, his grandchildren Julia, Haylie, Jayden, Jack, Miranda, Jaxon, and Eppie, his brothers Mitchell (Penny) Lynd, David (Deborah) Lynd, and his sister Brenda Schostag, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His son Chad Lynd, as well as his parents, died before him.
