Her death came as a complete shock to everyone. Everyone was taken aback by her untimely passing. The unexpected swiftness with which she departed this world took everyone by surprise. In an email that was sent to honor the anniversary of Lois’s passing, our Vice President and Editorial Director Neal Maillet wrote that Lois had “almost singlehandedly established” the relevance of mentoring as a professional field. This was in reference to the fact that Lois had passed away.

He also mentioned the fact that “her efforts influenced the lives of millions of humans.” [Further citation is required] The title of the book that Lois and her daughter Lisa Fain worked together on and had published is “Bridging Differences for Better Mentoring in 2020.” Lois wrote the book with her daughter. This book was co-written by Lois and her daughter. Because of this accomplishment, both our family and our company have experienced a great lot of happiness and fulfillment.

Lisa wrote a letter to Neal in which she stated, “(Lois) was incredibly proud of her work with Berrett-Koehler, and I know she cherished, as I did, the process of releasing Bridging Differences for Better Mentoring.” Neal was the recipient of this letter from Lisa. Neal had a deep sense of gratitude for Lisa’s letter, which he read. Neal was the intended receiver of this letter that Lisa had written and mailed to him. Neal had an incredible sense of gratitude toward Lisa after hearing what Lisa had to say about Lois, and after hearing her comments, Neal felt that he owed Lisa a great deal.
