Norris Davis Obituary, Death – Norris Joseph “Popu” Davis, Sr., age 75, of Liberty, Texas, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 24, 2022, just three short days after his wife, Kristie, had passed away. He was the son of the late Pleasent Spencer and Patricia Dixon, who both predeceased him, and was born on September 24, 1946 in Anahuac, Texas. The late Melvin Davis and Elvina Davis took Norris in as their own child and raised him with a lot of love. After obtaining his certification in diesel mechanics, he turned his passion for working on vehicles into a career and hasn’t looked back since.
Norris indulged in a wide variety of activities, some of which included his passion for working on automobiles, competing in auto races, and lounging in the shade of a tree in the backyard. Spending time with his cherished family brought him the most happiness of anything else in the world. Norris was a prankster at heart and enjoyed playing practical jokes on others. He was a quiet man who didn’t use a lot of words, but when he did speak, you knew to pay attention because what he had to say was significant. Norris always got the last word in, and whatever he said was considered final. Because of his perseverance, it was clear that his love was strong. Everyone who knew and loved him will miss him tremendously and think back on him with fond memories.
Norris’s parents, his wife Kristie Ericson-Davis, his daughter Rhonda Davis, and his siblings Audrey Spencer and Freddie White Jr. all passed away before him. He is survived by his children Norris Davis Jr., Christopher Davis, Raquel Davis, Karie Landrum, and Holla Walker and husband Brad; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings Cecelia Spencer Alfred, Lola Dixon Washington and husband Willie, Patricia Dixon, and Ethelyn Ricks; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. His loving memory will be cherished and remembered by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren forever.
On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., friends of Norris and Kristie are invited to visit their families in the chapel of Sterling Funeral Home located at 602 N. Main Street in Dayton, Texas.
