Pamela Schroeder Obituary, Death –  Pamela Lynn Schroeder, who was 63 years old when she died on November 29, 2022, was a resident of the assisted living community Sage Meadows in Middleton. She had dementia for the last few years of her life and lost her battle with the disease much too soon. She was the daughter of Alfred Schroeder and Alta (Schenkel) Schroeder, and she was born in Madison, Wisconsin, on March 5, 1959.

On August 28, 2004, Pamela tied the knot with James O’Brien. Her first love was acting in musical theater productions. She taught music at LaFollette High School for a number of years, during which time she also directed a number of musicals and participated in youth choirs. As a teacher, she took immense pride and pleasure in each of her pupils, as well as their individual musical interests and the paths they chose after high school. Pam and Jim loved to explore new places and spent a lot of time socializing with their friends and family. Pam had a generous spirit, and she showed it to everyone she came in contact with.

Those warm and welcoming eyes and those bear hugs will be sorely missed. Pam was known for her contagious laugh and warm, friendly demeanor, both of which served to instantly elevate one’s mood and put one at ease. Despite the fact that she suffered from dementia, you could always count on her to be humming a musical tune that brought back fond memories of who she was and the reasons why she was so well liked.

Pam is survived by her husband, Jim O’Brien; her children, Aaron (Lynea) LaVoy, Adam (Katie) LaVoy, and Megan (Kevin) Rowe; eight grandchildren; her father, Alfred “Dick” Schroeder; brothers, Rick (Jean Wisener-Schroeder) and Rob; her nephew, Riley (Allison); her niece, Hilary (Joe) Daufenbach; two great Her mother, Alta, as well as her grandparents and a large number of aunts, uncles, and cousins, passed away before she was born.

On Wednesday, December 7, 2022, from four in the afternoon until seven in the evening, a memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, located at 5203 Monona Drive in Madison.
