Peter Cooper Obituary, Death – Everyone, this is a terrible situation that we’re in. Without a shadow of a doubt, Peter Cooper was without a doubt one of the most exemplary people that I have ever had the honor of being able to call a friend. Throughout the entirety of country music’s existence, he remained a devoted supporter of the genre. A brilliant author, historian, and advocate for this music that all of us in this room adore so much, it is clear that he is. I’m going to miss having him around. Members of the Peter Cooper family include the following individuals. Peter Cooper, who had been hospitalized since late last week with a severe head injury, passed away in his sleep on December 6 after suffering from the effects of that injury. During this trying time, we would like to offer our most sincere condolences to both you and his family.

The prayers and kind words that have been offered to us over the past few days are truly appreciated beyond words, and we are unable to adequately express our gratitude for them. Please be aware that they have provided Peter and the rest of us with a significant amount of comfort over the past few years. The particulars of a memorial service that will take place in the early part of 2023 will be announced very soon after they have been finalized by our team. We ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to either the Baker Cooper fund, which will go toward supporting the education of Peter’s son, or the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, which will go toward supporting the educational mission of that cultural organization.

Both of these organizations are dedicated to preserving and promoting country music and its history. Donations should be sent to the attention of Baker Cooper and mailed to the following address: Attention: Baker Cooper, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 1712 West End Avenue, Nashville, Tennessee 37203…Both the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum can be found here in the same building. Nashville, Tennessee 37203 can be found at 22 Representative John Lewis Way South.
