Richard Morin Obituary, Death – I must let you know about the passing of our colleague Dr. Richard Morin, who worked in the Department of Anesthesiology, and it is with a great deal of sadness that I do so. Yesterday evening, Dr. Morin, who had reached the age of 53, passed away. As a direct result of this terrible accident, he left behind an enormous void in the lives of his relatives and friends, as well as in his community and in our healthcare facilities.

In 2007, Dr. Morin completed all of the requirements necessary to earn his degree from the University of Ottawa. In 2019, following a lengthy career as a military physician that culminated in his retirement that year, he started working for Quinte Health. During the course of his career in the military, he served in a variety of capacities in the Middle East on multiple occasions.

He was a member of our team who was known for having high standards of integrity and garnering a great deal of respect. He maintained his composure and was ready to assist in any way possible whenever it was requested of him. We are inconsolably heartbroken that Dr. Morin’s vibrant life has been cut short to such an extreme degree, as he was interested in continuing to improve his practice and learning new techniques. We are incredibly heartbroken that these opportunities, as well as his vibrant life, have been cut short.

Our deepest condolences go out to his wife Carrie, their daughter, and all of his other loved ones, friends, and coworkers who were impacted by his passing and are grieving the loss of their loved one. The flags that fly atop each of our four hospitals have been lowered to the half-staff position as a gesture of respect and honor for Dr. Morin.
