Robert Jeter Obituary,  Death – Robert “Dean” Jeter, who had spent his whole life in Iowa City and had been a successful businessman there in the past, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, at the Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. He was 75 years old. Memorial services will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Iowa City on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10:30 am. St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City will be the location of the interment. Visitation is scheduled to take place at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service on Wednesday from 4 pm to 7 pm. (Klein) Jeter, was born on September 16, 1947 in Iowa City. His parents’ names are Robert H. and Theresa A. (Klein) Jeter. He received his education in Iowa City schools while he was growing up in Iowa City and graduated from City High School in 1966 with his class.

Janice M. Zenisek became Dean’s wife on June 13, 1970, and the ceremony took place in Solon. Dean had worked for Iowa Gas & Electric prior to following in his parents’ footsteps and becoming employed at Plamor Lanes. Dean was a member of several organizations, including the Eagles, the Knights of Columbus, the Johnson County I Club, and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He was a devoted supporter of the Iowa Hawkeyes. Camping, travels to Wisconsin with his family, and trips to Jamaica with Jan were some of Dean’s favorite vacation activities. Dean cherished his time spent with both his immediate family and the numerous friends he had made over the years.

His family consists of his wife, Jan; their four sons, Mark Jeter (DeaDra), Phil Jeter (Andrea), John Jeter and Jim Jeter; their grandchildren, Peyton, Gavin, Jadyn, and Katlyn; his brother, David Jeter (Pati); and other sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon Jeter, Nancy Grady (Dan), Joe Zenisek (Susan), Jim Zenisek (Deb), Andy Zenise
His mother and father, as well as his brother Dennis “Peach” Jeter and his brother-in-law Bruce Zenisek, all passed away before Dean did.
