Robert Stengel Obituary, Death – Robert Stengel has sadly and unexpectedly passed away. His parents were the late Lawrence Edward Stengel and Anne Agnes McShane Stengel of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He was born in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He began his career in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Only Linda M., his wife of 24 years, will remember him. She is the only one who is capable. (Moeslein) Stengel and his three children, Michael R., Jennifer C., and Robert L., as well as his mother and siblings: James R., the husband of Kathleen H. Lawrence F., Theresa B.’s husband and a Lancaster resident; Kathleen A., the wife of James T. Alton and a Lancaster resident; and John P., Marycatherine’s husband and a Lancaster resident John P.’s wife’s name is Marycatherine.
Robert graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry before going on to earn his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. After graduating from Lancaster Catholic High School in 1977, Robert went on to earn degrees from Lancaster Catholic University and Lancaster Catholic College. After completing his residency in family practice at Lancaster General Hospital and receiving his diploma in 1988, he worked as a family physician on West Chestnut Street in Lancaster for ten years. He began working at Oyster Point Family Health Center in 2002 and stayed until his death.
He was employed there. His patients had only good things to say about him. Robert was a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Board of Family Practice, and the American Board of Family Practice certified him in family practice. He also had an Additional Qualification in Geriatrics. He previously served on the Lancaster Health Alliance Board of Directors, as secretary and treasurer of Lancaster General Hospital’s Department of Family Practice, as a member of the Lancaster County Advisory Board of Mental Health/Mental Retardation, as a member of the Lancaster Sertoma Club, and as a member of the Physician Advisory Board, HealthGuard of Lancaster.
He has also served on the Lancaster Health Alliance’s Board of Directors. He also served on the Board of Physicians for the HealthGuard organization in Lancaster. Bob had been a devout Roman Catholic his entire life, spending the majority of his time at the Sacred Heart parish in Lancaster. He was looking forward to spending time with his friends and family, as well as playing golf, running, riding bicycles, and reading.
