Rory Gowland Obituary, Death – The unexpected passing of Rory Gowland has left the Carmarthenshire CAMRA organization in a state of shock and mourning. Rory, a member of Swansea CAMRA, was a wonderful friend of our branch and played an important role in the organization of the first Carmarthenshire Beer Festival more than 25 years ago. The festival is held annually in Carmarthenshire.

It is not an exaggeration to say that if Rory had not offered his assistance and advice, the Carmarthenshire Beer Festival, or at the very least a version that has been as successful as it is today, would not have existed at all. It is also not an exaggeration to say that the festival would not have been as successful as it is today. People who attend our festival consistently hold Rory’s Three Cliffs Gold, Original Wood, and Bishopswood Bitter in very high regard. Rory’s beer has been a mainstay at our festival for a number of years now.

As a result of the attendees of the festival in 2018 selecting Three Cliffs Gold as their preferred beer, the brewery was recently presented with the award for Best Beer of the Festival. Rory was kind enough to brew a supercharged version of Three Cliffs Gold specifically for our festival, which was held to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of our organization. He did this as a sign of gratitude for our long-standing partnership, which dates back to the beginning of the festival, and he did this as a gesture of appreciation. At this time, he and all of his loved ones are being remembered in our prayers. We owe Rory a debt of gratitude for all of the assistance he has provided and for the friendship he has shown toward the other people who are a part of the branch. The Carmarthenshire CAMRA is where everything originates from.
