Ruth Thatenhurst Obituary, Death – Mrs. May Ruth Thatenhurst, who had reached the age of 89 and had spent her whole life in the city of Winfield, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Diversicare Nursing Facility in the city of Diversicare. She had been a resident of Winfield her entire life. Mrs. Thatenhurst was born on February 2nd, 1933 in the city of Winfield, in the state of Alabama. Winfield, Alabama was the place where she made her debut into the world, and her parents were named Leech and Lilly Burleson Wood. She spent the majority of her adult life in the Birmingham area, where she received her high school diploma from Winfield City High School and where she has spent the rest of her adult life.

She attended Winfield City High School, where she graduated with her high school diploma. In addition to her duty as a member of the congregation at the church that is located in Tarrant, Alabama, Mrs. Thatenhurst spent a considerable amount of her life working as a receptionist for Walls and All and Smith Brothers Honda there. During this time, she also attended the church there. She found a lot of happiness in being able to take care of her child, lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors in her spare time, spend time with her relatives, and go over old photographs of the family.

Mrs. Thatenhurst is survived by her nieces Kathy Mills, Belinda Meritt (Mike), Ann Wood, and Juanita Rosinger (Kenny), as well as her nephews Kevin Sizemore, Keith Sizemore, Michael Mills, Marty Wood, Bruce Wood (Christine), Gary Ross, Jeff Smith, and Eddy Wilson. Additionally, Mrs. Thatenhurst is survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews. Along with her nieces and nephews, Mrs. Thatenhurst is also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews.

Kathy Mills, Belinda Meritt (Mike), Ann Wood, and Juanita Rosinger are all her nieces. She also has a nephew named Mike Meritt (Kenny). Mrs. Thatenhurst was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Kenneth, Sherman, and Junior Wood, as well as her nephew Kenneth Sizemore. In addition to her, her son David Thatenhurst had also passed away prior to her own passing.
