Sherry McVey Obituary, Death – Sherry (Stoltz) McVey, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at the Deaconess Health Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was a resident of Bridgeport, Illinois. She was the daughter of Larry Bernard Stoltz and Virginia Kay (Paddick) Miller, and she was born on April 11, 1964 in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Her parents’ names are Larry Bernard Stoltz and Virginia Kay (Paddick). On August 9, 2010, she tied the knot with Brad McVey, and this past year, the couple celebrated their twelve years of marriage together.

At Red Hill High School in 1982, Sherry was recognized as the student who best exemplified the qualities of a Valedictorian. She previously held a position at Golden Rule Insurance, and more recently she has been working as a Food Supervisor for the State of Illinois Department of Corrections. Sherry was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Michigan Wolverines, two of her favorite teams to watch play. She was Ben’s number one supporter throughout his childhood, and she took great pleasure in serving as President of the Bridgeport Little League during that time. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, and she loved collecting items related to Santa Claus and other Christmas characters. Sherry’s relationship with her granddaughter, Rylee, was very special, and the two of them took great pleasure in spending time together. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing her will grieve her passing deeply.

Sherry is survived by her husband, Brad; her son, Benjamin “Ben” Stoltz; her grandchildren, Rylee Stoltz, Serenity and Jackson McVey; her mother, Kay Miller and her husband, Dave; her four stepchildren, Andrew (Stefanie) McVey, Caitlyn McVey, Jennifer McVey, and Hannah McVey; two brothers, Alan (Karla) Stoltz, and Shane (Sherry was predeceased by her mother, her brother Bradley Wayne Stoltz, and her nephew Austin Hering. Her father also passed away.The family and friends of the deceased are invited to attend a visitation beginning at eleven in the morning. – on Monday, December 12, 2022, at one o’clock in the afternoon, at New Hope Christian Church located in Bridgeport, Illinois.

On Monday, December 12, 2022, at one o’clock in the afternoon, Funeral Services will be held at New Hope Christian Church, with Pastor Bill Cox officiating the service. After the service, burial will take place at Sumner Cemetery. In memory of Sherry, memorial contributions can be made to the Lawrence County Cancer Center and Wig Shop.
