Sue Richards Obituary, Death – We are sorry to have to tell you this, but Sue Richards, who was married to Ian, passed away this morning at the Ty Olwen Hospice. She was a gentle and reassuring influence to many of us as she worked among us. Our deepest condolences go out to Matthew, her family, and all of her many friends on the passing of her mother. Keep up the good fight so that a cure can be found! Sue’s circle of friends included people of varying ages and from a variety of different generations. This brought her much happiness. You could always tell when she was plotting something because she was quick with a joke, had a sly grin, and had a twinkle in her eye.

Sue was a golfing and sailing champion, and she was a membership of the Waterville Country Club and the Pasadena Yacht and CC for many years . Throughout her entire life, she volunteered her time in a variety of capacities, including with the scouts, the swim team, the youth hockey team, the hospital boards, the Maine Home for Little Wanderers, the Gulfport Chamber of Commerce, and the Gulfport Senior Center. Sue, a sports fan for her entire life, has instilled in her children and husband a spirit that is both competitive and compassionate. The maxims “Do your best,”

“Enjoy your successes but don’t get a big head,” and “Don’t sweat the small stuff” are words to guide one’s behavior and should be followed religiously. Sue’s children Anne, Richmond, Dudley, and Ruth, along with her eight grandchildren and her favorite great-granddaughter, will carry on her legacy of loving life to the fullest and making the most of every opportunity. At a later time, there will be a funeral service that is will be announced by the family.
