Vickie L. Williams Obituary, Death – On December 3, 2022, Vickie L. Williams, who had lived in Jacksonville, Florida all her life and had reached the age of 59, passed away in the comfort of her own home. On December 6th, 1962, she entered the world in the city of Toledo, Ohio. After her parents had both passed away, she was given birth to Virgil and Jean McLaughlin DeCore’s daughter. She began her professional life working as a consultant for Longaberger Baskets, and since then, she has devoted the past 41 years of her life to her job at Echoing Meadows. She was a member of the Jacksonville Eagles and played for the team at various points. She has a special place in her heart for each and every one of her dogs, and she adores being in the kitchen.
She is survived by her husband John Williams; her son Johnathon (Stephanie) Williams of Chauncey; her daughter Ashley (Travis Brown) Dearth of Glouster; her six grandchildren, Conner, Chase, Corey and Caitlyn Wooten and Emery and Lilian Brown; three brothers Virgil “Butch” (Kim) DeCore, Daniel (Jamie) DeCore, and Jack DeCore; and two sisters Sharon (Jim) Larkins and
She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother Thomas DeCore and her sister Susie Post. Her grandparents also passed away before her. Her parents were the first to pass away.
Funeral services will be held at the Morrison Funeral Chapel in Glouster-Bishopville on Friday, December 9, 2022 at twelve o’clock in the afternoon, and Pastor Phil Westenbarger will preside over the ceremony. The date and location of the funeral have not been determined. At the conclusion of the funeral services, the body will be laid to rest at the Maplewood Cemetery in Glouster. On Thursday, friends and family are cordially invited to call at the funeral home between the hours of 5 and 8 pm to pay their respects. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, a gift be sent to the Glouster Southern Baptist Church in the form of a toy that can be donated to the Christmas toy give-away that will be hosted there for children.
