Wayne Ryals Obituary, Death – Mr. Wayne Ryals, a resident of Clio, was found to have passed away on December 5th, 2022 at his home. He was 88. At two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at the Keahey Funeral Home Chapel located in Clio, funeral services will be held. The ceremony will be presided over by Reverend Robbie Daniels. At Keahey Funeral Home, the family will have a visitation for friends and family one hour before the start of the ceremonies. The burial will take place in the Bethel Cemetery after the service.

Donations in memory of the deceased may be donated to the Bethel Cemetery, the Anderson Church, or the Corinth Church in lieu of flowers. Tim Ryals, Tyler Ryals, Dennis Ryals, Michael Parr, Gavin Parr, and Graham Parr have been asked to serve as pallbearers for the funeral service.
Only his son, Larry Wayne Ryals, and his sisters, Cathryn Wise (Edward Lanier) of Clayton and Sarah Frey of Columbus, Ohio, remain to carry on his legacy and honor his memory. His wife of 65 years and the joy of his life, Jacqueline Olivia Parr Ryals, who passed away in 2019 after a long and happy marriage, was his immediate predecessor.

Wayne Ryals was born on March 3, 1934, and he attended and graduated from Troy University after serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a teacher at Carroll High School in Ozark, where he mostly focused on mathematics. He was the creator of several of the earliest laser-guided lock-on system programs that were utilized by the United States military; many of these programs are still being used today. He also developed numerous of the programs that are still being used today.

Additionally, he was responsible for the design and construction of an oscilloscope that was used by the military of the United States. Kimberly Wynn, Betty Sue Wilkinson, Amber Hagler, Kenny Williams, and the whole staff at Covenant Care Hospice deserve special recognition and gratitude from his family for the outstanding care they provided in helping to make his final days as comfortable and serene as possible. Wayne Ryals was blessed with a loving wife, and we pray that he is finally at peace with the Lord and with her.
